This holiday season, PACT and Architecture for Humanity are supporting the design and construction of a work-house for a cooperative of 15 fishermen in Shizugawa, a town where 70% of the structures were destroyed by the earthquake and tsunami in March. The economy of Shizugawa is literally built upon the fishing industry, so when 15 fishermen get back to work in a fishing town, so do the people who support them: the local lunch lady, the delivery men, the ice suppliers, and on and on. And that makes us happy.
